Dragan Klaic, Sarajevo 1950 - Amsterdam 2011 A good friend and patron of BO, Dragan moderates a seminar on a video taken in December 2010 for the European Culture Congress, held in Wroclaw, in September 2011. (The word in the middle of the opening picture reads at first sight as smrt, a sinister signal in Dragan's mother tongue.) A short note by Dragan written on the eve of the year of intercultural dialogue. The Budapest Observatory had the privilege to act as a broker in the process of publishing The Mobility of Imagination. Dragan co-operated with various institutions of the Soros family: with the Open Society Institute and the Central European University. It was therefore an obvious option that when SICA, the Service Centre for International Cultural Activities of the Netherlands had generously provided the means that enabled publishing, the Centre for Arts and Culture of the CEU should be the publisher and the CEU Press should undertake distribution of the book. The English original was followed by a Latvian edition by Culturelab, and Dragan's book is now available in Polish: read the English translation of Krzysztof Czyżewski's foreword.
